"Fashion comes and goes, but style is permanent. Fashionable people can opt out of the fashion stream, but a stylish person never become unstylish unless they hit their head on a rock and suffer brain damage" (ART & CULTURE, An Intellectual Fashion by Douglas Coupland, August 3, 2011, AnOther Magazing)

SATURDAY NIGHT FUN
This is what I do on a Saturday night, plaster casting the female body. I have to make a form to hang my garments of, the plaster casting is so I can make a mould to vac form over. This is for my upcoming exhibition, I'm one of the designers presenting in the MSFW graduate exhibition held at £1000 Bend.

BODY CONDOM
The vacuum body condom is basically a huge enclosed condom like encasing made of latex which slowly has the air sucked out of it. I don't entirely understand the pleasure this fetish gives to its participants but I understand I understand to the point of acceptance.
The actual video is so beautiful to watch, the lighting and slowness of which the man moves within this second skin is spookily compelling.
This video also relates to my thesis for example, if you watched this video for the first time not knowing that this act was connected to a sex fetish would you enjoy it visually or would you be able to make the link and then condemn?
Would you really be able to understand what was going on?
If you found out what the video was intended to be sexual before you watched it, would you see the video in a different light?
It's about being able to separate yourself from what is actually going on. You can condemn the reasons this man is doing what he is doing but you don't have to condemn the visual beauty of which this video emits. Enjoy it visually glaze over the top and have a simple appreciation, having said that don't avoid understanding what the purpose of the video is about, all I am saying is don't be naive just simply enjoy.

CHARLIE LE MINDU
Charlie Le Mindu + hair + latex = AWESOME-NESS
. . . ENJOY . . .
This collection by Charlie Le Mindu for SS2010 is by far my favourite by far and it is probably due to the use of latex on the runway, how do I know its latex? It has to be because of the extreme sweating the models are doing, you can only tell on the models wearing the flesh toned latex but they are sweating up a storm in those suits and I don't blame them being under those extreme lights walking on the catwalk as well as being under stress, just photographing models in my latex garments makes me sweat.

AMAZING
COLOUR SAMPLING (latex with acrylic paint)
These little circular blobs are of course latex but the latex has been mixed with varying amounts of acrylic paint in an effort to create varied skin tones. The top circle of latex has no acrylic added and the last circular blob is of latex with about a tablespoon of acrylic paint. The intensity of colour also varies with the thickness of which you apply the latex, these samples are thicker than what I would use to paint garments out of, it need to be keep in mind that whilst applying the coats of latex to a body part the colour and intensity will vary with each coat. It's interesting to see the colour of the latex when wet and then dry, the varied tones of which it changes during the drying process is quite dramatic.

I needed to take some photos of my newest latex creations, there is getting more and more and I'm not documenting it enough. So I had some photo fun times at uni today in the studio and took some happy shnaps of these latex limbs. Ive made some movies too so you can get even closer to the latex.

More latex fun. Making some stockings and this is what they look like on the maniquen and being peeled off
This next video is made up of elements of the suspended legs as they dangle freely, what is it that you are seeing? Is it the thigh, crotch or ankle? Is what you are seeing actually legs, or could it be interpreted as something else?
This is the idea of the video to confound you and to make you question what you are looking at. Do you agree or disagree with what you are looking at?

Lido de Paris Cabaret
SO AMAZING.
I was interning the other day and we were working on a head piece for a woman who has come from the Lido in Paris to do some performances out here is Australia for the Cabaret festival. Richard showed me some videos of the performances done by the Lido, I could have died so BEAUTIFUL and elegant regardless of how much skin is exposed, these woman are able to pull it off. The complete opulence of their feathered and sequinned head pieces costumes distract from the fact they have very little on.
